Touring the underground music scene for around 10 years, Lorin Ashton (Bassnectar) is a trance DJ. Originating in San Francisco, Ashton has toured all over the world with major bands such as Dave Mathews, STS9, and Umphreys McGee. Getting the much needed exposure Basnectar has performed at many festivals around the country including Rothbury, We The People Festival, Langerado, and many more. Lorin has fans from all spectrums off music because of his recent touring with Jam Bands, which is unlike his music type. From old hippies, dead heads, to new age ravers, you'll see it all at a Bassnectar concert. The diverse atmosphere of an event is incredible. He plays at bars, theaters, ballrooms, massive festivals, and just your average concert hall. You name it, and he's there over a third of the year. Lorin has released six albums, all with their own style. In 2001 Freakbeat for the Beatfreak was released making it his first official album release. Followed by Beatfreak Bohemia in 2002, Motions of Mutation in 2003, Diverse Systems of Throb in 2004, Mesmerizing The Ultra in 2005, and Underground Communication which was released in 2007. A new single entitled Heads Up will be released in 2008 to keep up his busy lifestyle.
